MSD is using its best efforts to improve the quality of water in streams by changing the way our community’s water resources are managed.

MSD uses a watershed approach for managing its wastewater and stormwater programs. The majority of MSD's activities are grouped into six area teams.

MSD faces the challenge of maintaining clean water and a green environment with the needs of a growing community.

MSD is taking steps to improve our urban streams.   Interested in learning how you can help?

Check local rainfall online. Actual rainfall conditions are automatically telemetered
(transmitted) to MSD's central computer every 5 minutes.

MSD's environmental policy is based on the CERES Principles which were drafted in 1989 after the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

MSD's Greenways Program was established in an effort to return the streams to a more natural state. 

MSD is reorganizing its wastewater and drainage programs into eleven watersheds.

MSD is responsible for enforcing the Floodplain Ordinance which governs the management of floodplain lands.
