MSD employees generously contributed their time to Louisville Metro Mayor Greg Fischer’s sixth annual “Give A Day” week of public service, April 15-23. MSD personnel, who were joined in some events by Louisville Water and Stantec employees, demonstrated their compassion for our community by taking part in volunteer projects:
- Cleanup of the streets in the Main Office area
- Rain garden workshop at Maupin Elementary School
- Riparian Restoration and tree planting on Bartley Drive where MSD purchased homes in the floodplain and is restoring the land to a natural stream buffer
- Two cleanups at Beargrass Flood Pump Station & Karen Lynch Park
MSD personnel contributed approximately 162 service hours to Give A Day week, and non-MSD participants in these projects, including Dropseed Nursery, Louisville Water and Stantec, contributed another 38 service hours.
